AI in the UAE: a guide to research, models and business adoption

SearchAI editorial diagram: AI in the UAE: a guide to research, models and business adoption

The UAE AI landscape includes universities, applied-research organisations and commercial technology groups. They play different roles. This guide helps you choose where to look for research, model announcements and implementation questions; it is not a ranking or a complete directory.

Research and education: MBZUAI

Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence is based in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. Its activities include AI research, education and industry collaboration. Its newsroom is useful for finding research updates, but a university announcement should still be read alongside the underlying work.

Start with our report on Parallel Tube Decoding, which separates the announced result from questions a deployment team would need to answer.

Applied research and models: TII

TII is the applied-research arm of Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council. Its Falcon-H1 Arabic announcement is one example of its language-model work. The original release identifies the model family and the benchmarks cited by its developers.

For a business application, use the release to identify a candidate rather than assume it is the right choice. Our Arabic AI evaluation guide covers bilingual requests, factual accuracy and operational testing.

Commercial AI and infrastructure: G42

G42 describes itself as an Abu Dhabi-based group operating globally, with offerings spanning digital infrastructure, cloud computing and applied AI. A group-level description is not a specification for a particular service: identify the contracting provider, deployment region and support terms for the product you are evaluating.

Keep the evidence attached

When a release is updated, preserve the product version, source date and conditions behind the original claim. Do not compare a laboratory benchmark with a production service without identifying the differences. If a capability is available only in a preview or a paper, say so in the decision record.

SearchAI’s editorial policy explains how source attribution and AI assistance are handled. This guide does not imply a partnership with the organisations listed.
